The Battle Within: Revenant Journey (Kansas)

The Revenant Journey, brought to life by a robust community of  Veterans and First Responders, serves as a haven for those seeking to heal from traumatic injuries. Our free 5-day program is designed to bring Veterans and First Responders together and create a safe space where they can identify their burdens, confront them in a secure environment, and obtain the necessary tools to overcome them. By participating in our program, Veterans and First Responders can acquire new skills that can be applied to their life, leading to long-term healing success. NOTE: The Battle Within is located in Kansas though, anyone is welcome to attend. At this time, The Battle Within does not provide reimbursement for travel costs. They have developed relationships with departments and other non-profit organizations to provide free or reduced cost for air and ground travel for those in need.

Boulder Crest Foundation: Warrior PATHH(Virginia)

Warrior PATHH provides the training you need to transform your struggle into strength and thrive in the aftermath of trauma. Warrior PATHH — Progressive and Alternative Training for Helping Heroes — is based on the science of Posttraumatic Growth (PTG).

Camp Hero (Kentucky)

Camp Hero provides 3-4 day getaways for wounded veterans and first responders, to allow them to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the Appalachian Mountain outdoors, while being able to talk and fellowship with other wounded heroes.  All lodging and food is provided from the non-profit, through donations.  The uniqueness of Camp Hero allows heroes to hike, explore caves, wade creeks, ride ATVs, enjoy watching the abundance of wildlife, sit around a campfire, or even do some hunting (season permitting).  Camp Hero also has events for children, teaching outdoor skills, and mentoring them, so they can become the heroes of the future. 

Camp Southern Ground: Warrior PATHH (Georgia)

Warrior PATHH is the first training program to enable our nation’s combat veterans and first responders to transform deep struggle into profound strength and lifelong Posttraumatic Growth (PTG). Warrior PATHH is a 90-day, non-pharmacological, peer-delivered training program that begins with a 7-day intensive and immersive initiation. This is followed by 3 months of dedicated support, training, accountability, and connection from a team of trained combat veterans and first responders.

The Code Green Campaign

The Code Green Campaign® is a first responder oriented mental health advocacy and education organization. Also known as Code Green, we serve all types of first responders.

Copline

(Law Enforcement Only) A confidential helpline for members of US law enforcement. Their website also has additional information on help and resources.

Crisis Text Line

A service that allows people in crisis to speak with a trained crisis counselor by texting “Start” or “Help” to 741-741.

Deer Hollow (Utah)

Deer Hollow is the leading mental health center in the country providing deeply caring, comprehensive treatment to individuals struggling with the devastating impacts and overwhelming challenges of trauma. *Discussed on Episode 9 & 10

First H.E.L.P.

First H.E.L.P. reduces mental health stigma for first responders through education and awareness and assists first responders in their search for healing. We acknowledge the service and sacrifice of first responders lost to suicide and care for their families in the aftermath of a suicide loss.

First Responders Bridge 

First Responders' Bridge offers educational and informative retreats for first responders and their significant others. The mission of First Responders' Bridge is to support all active and retired First Responders and their families, loved ones, or caregivers who are experiencing, or have experienced, any traumatic or life-altering event. The Bridge will promote personal growth and healthy relationships with a multi-faceted approach in a safe and confidential environment. First Responders' Bridge, Corp. is a non-profit made up of First Responders who have experienced traumatic events first hand, clinicians who have counseled numerous First Responders and business and community leaders who have a heart for helping our First Responder heroes and their families.

First Responder Project

The First Responder Project, Inc. (FRP) was founded in January 2020 as a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Its primary mission is to address the psychological and emotional needs of first responders. The organization's founders, all of whom have direct experience in either serving alongside or working with conventional and special forces personnel, aimed to share the insights and expertise gained from those who are on the front lines. Their goal is to create a wider network of support that offers meaningful and substantial assistance.

Frontline Freedom

Frontline Freedoms mission is to offer a chance to unwind from the daily stressors with other public service individuals. And to give you experiences that take you away from the hustle of everyday life and immerse you in the tranquility of the great outdoors. With each breath of fresh air, each step on a hiking trail, and each night spent under the stars, we aim to help you rejuvenate your spirit. They host expense-free backpacking trips and offer the ability of static camping trips for those unable to meet the physical demands of backcountry hiking. During each trip, you will begin to build a network of other First Responders through the task orientation process of setting up camp or hiking challenging routes. They aim to allow you to unwind, have fun, build new friendships, and perhaps gain a new hobby.

The staff is comprised of former first responders help to create an environment of therapeutic comfort and ease through sharing in their own experiences.

Gratitude America: Warrior PATHH(Florida)

Warrior PATHH (Progressive and Alternative Training for Helping Heroes) is an intensive and immersive training program that enables Veterans & First Responders to walk the road home from war and be as productive here as they were on the battlefield. Warrior PATHH honors the legacy of thousands of years of Warriors who returned home from war to do remarkable things in their communities.

IAFF Center of Excellence

A rehab center designed specifically for IAFF members. When you call the IAFF Center of Excellence, you’ll undergo a free and confidential screening process over the phone. *Discussed on Episode 17 & 18

Kentucky Post-Critical Incident Seminar (KYPCIS)

The Kentucky Post-Critical Incident Seminar is a three-day seminar modeled after highly-successful programs developed by the FBI and South Carolina. These seminars are led by mental-health professionals trained to work with peace officers, and driven by a team of law enforcement and public safety dispatch peers who have experienced their own critical incident and received training in Critical Incident Stress Management. *Discussed on Episode 32

Mighty Oaks Foundation (Texas)

Mighty Oaks provides peer-to-peer resiliency and recovery programs that serve as the catalyst to assist our Nation’s Warriors dealing with challenges related to the struggles of daily military life, combat deployments and the symptoms of post-traumatic stress (PTS) offered at no cost to our Nation’s Warriors, including travel at beautiful ranches across the US. *Discussed in Episode 9 & 10

Mindfulness Medic

At their core, Mindfulness Medic is a beacon of hope. They show that beyond the struggles and fears, limitless potential awaits. Their mission, led by a firefighter paramedic, is to normalize conversations around mental health in public safety and healthcare. It's about acknowledging that it's okay not to be okay, but it's not okay to remain there. Every first responder deserves a life filled with joy, purpose, and fulfillment. NFVC (National Volunteer Fire Council )

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the leading nonprofit membership association representing the interests of the volunteer fire, EMS, and rescue services. The NVFC serves as the voice of the volunteer in the national arena and provides critical resources, programs, education, and advocacy for first responders across the nation.

The Recovery Village(Ohio)

The Recovery Village (Columbus, Ohio) is home to the first responder specific Fortitude Program. Fortitude helps resolve substance abuse and co-occurring trauma so you can get back to work. *Discussed on Episode 18

Safe Call Now

A 24/7 help line staffed by first responders for first responders and their family members. They can assist with treatment options for responders who are suffering from mental health, substance abuse and other personal issues.

Save A Warrior/SAW (Ohio & Kentucky)

Save A Warrior is dedicated to the prevention of veteran and first responder suicide. The 72 hour program aims to preserve and enhance life by drawing from a diverse array of disciplines—including neuroscience, depth psychology, mythology, sociology, ontology, biology, physics, linguistics, metaphysics, neurobiology, art, storytelling, science, psychology, and mindfulness—they have designed an intensive integrative intervention that addresses the complex and multifaceted nature of mental health and well-being. *Discussed on Episode 47

Sc4i (Status Code 4 Inc.)

Based in Colorado, The mission of Status Code 4 Inc. (SC4I) is to provide trauma healing counseling and mental wellness educational services to First Responders and their family members.  First Responders are civilian and military members who perform law enforcement, fire fighter, emergency medical, dispatch and other emergency services.

988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

The national (USA) suicide hotline. Not first responder specific, but they can and will talk to anyone who needs help. They have a large number of first responders and veterans who volunteer.

Warriors Heart

Warriors Heart® provides private treatment to adult men and women 18 and older who are seeking inpatient treatment for chemical dependencyalcohol abuse, and co-occurring psychological disorders relating to PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) or the psychological effects of MTBI (mild traumatic brain injury).
